It's my birthday soon

well howdy there, It's been quite awhile now since I last wrote anything about books. Since my last post I've read a few books so I'm going to be making a list and rating them and maybe saying something small about it. truthfully 7 of them all link together.

Alright let the games begin

1. Blackbird by Lisa Shelby ***** I rated this book 5 starts on Goodreads, and oh my god it was actually so good. It's about lost love coming back and working through the difficulties that came when being apart. Just melted my heart and everything. It is a romance novel obviously, most of the sex scenes are in the flash backs on how they met. Super good!!!

2. Thrill Ride by Lane Hart **** This one was a 4 star, I enjoyed it a lot, it's also about passed love but with a twist? She gets kidnapped on her wedding day by a guy who left her tied up 3 years ago and well she was a cop and you really need to read it. They have a kid together, I mean it is kind of cheesy and twisted but I defiantly liked it.

3. The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin *** okay I have a lot to say about this one. first, this book is SO CONFUSING in the beginning, I can not remember where I first saw this book and was like YES i wanna read it, but I had it and was like yeah lets change it up and read a books that's not a romance. The description does not do justice to what the book is about, I mean it's done in 3 points of view and it's in 3rd person, 2nd person and 1st person. It hurt to read it cause sometimes I just wasn't catching it, as the chapters got near the end of the book IT FINALLY clicked it what the bloody hell was going on.. which then I started liking it which is why it got 3 stars. I love books where the world isn't the same as here and yes it need a lot of writing to explain how their worlds work but man there 2 more books after this. I've debated about reading them, maybe sometime next year. and honestly I can't even explain what's going on anymore in the book because I just don't even know what to say because I feel it might ruin it.

7. Cruel as a Queen Kendra Moreno***** All these books are part as a series so I'm rating it as a whole, which is clearly 5 STARS cause I read all the books!!!! Ah I love rewrites of fairy tales and Wonderland is in my top 3 favorite stories. This one is going to have a small spoiler but you find it out in the first book, Alice comes back to Wonderland when she is older and she becomes the red queen after killing the other red queen, things are a but different than what you read in the books, but that's okay i love all the changes it did. You can tell in the names of the book who each story is about, there's a prophecy that says three women will come and help save Wonderland. Each book the girls are very different and I just loved this whole series, the last one book is i think 4 or 5 stories that sorta help make sense to whole series, talks about Alice when she comes back after finding Wonderland and a few other stories that help along the way. super duper helpful. The Series is also called Sons of Wonderland.

10. Wicked as a Pixie by Kendra Moreno***** okay clearly i have a thing for this kind of books. I had to read these next ones cause its PETER PAN retelling!!!! I LOVE Peter Pan. Side note my friend and I were so obsessed with Fairies when we were younger we gave ourselves our own Fairy names and I even got the tattoo of "Second star on the right and straight on till morning" on my leg a few years ago. Yeah okay so here Neverland is dying, you don't find that out till the actual 2nd book but the best part about this is that Wendy meets White (the rabbit from Wonderland) some time yeaaars ago and calls on them to help, so you actually get a lot of the characters from the first series. Some of the characters from the first series end up with these characters, it's so cool. There is a 4th book like the first series called Monstrous as a Croc (guess you can tell who the villain is) but I have no way to read it which I know lead to the next series which is in Emerald City! which for people who don't know what that is it's the wizard of oz. I have the first book of that one which I actually accidently bought.. I swear. READ READ READ. Hot sex in all of them too. hahaha forgot to mention that.

I did not think I read 10 books since I last wrote here, but apparently I did. Very easy quick reads. I'm listening to an audiobook and this other book I'm reading which apparently like 10 stories in one book but they connect? I'm not sure where that leads but that's so going.

I am however FINALLY reading a book that's super popular and I have seen so many TikTok and Reels about it so I joined the hype. My birthday is in 3 days, going to be eating some delicious ice cream cake, reading and probably watching Buffy the Vampire slayer.
